CrossFit Kids

As a mom I am so grateful that I taught my girls the importance of daily fitness. When I look at my two daughters I smile knowing that I did a great job of teaching them that fitness is a lifestyle, it’s just something that is a part of their day, as natural as brushing their teeth.

I’ve always told them, regardless of what your ‘schedule’ is, find time for YOU, get out of your comfort zone and challenge yourself, it can only benefit you in the long run ๐Ÿ™‚

And the legacy lives on…. when my granddaughter Peyton was born we strapped her to our back and did the Concept2 rower. We did pull-ups and hanging knee raises with her in tow. She was learning the lifestyle.

And today was proof. When I picked her up from school the 1st thing she said was, “What are we gonna do today Nay Nay?”

“Well Pey, we’re going to stop & see your Poppa because he misses and loves you very much. We’re going to go home, eat lunch and then take a nap. After your nap we’re going to hide Easter eggs, find them then do some CrossFit so we can get our exercise in. What do you think about that Pey?”ย Her response. “Okay Nay Nay!”

And that’s exactly what we did and she LOVED it! Warrior paint on, we warmed up on the cables 1st.

Then did our hanging knee raises.

We worked on perfecting our pull-ups

And her comment when we did the wall balls… I LOVE wall balls Nay Nay!!!!

And then we learned how to do a wall crawl. She hadn’t attempted this move yet so this what a little bit of a challenge but after the 3rd try she finally got it!

And then the box! We’ve been working on climbing up on the box but hadn’t attempted the “jump” yet. Today she ROCKED it!

Next was the med ball clean with a 6lb ball. Now this was a confusing move for a 3-year-old to grasp but once again because it’s in ‘her blood’ she mastered it and managed to bang out 3 quality cleans!

On to the next move which was the basic squat, Nay Nay’s rule was that your butt MUST touch the ball or it doesn’t count. 5 squats and we could have some more FUN. Yep, you guessed it, she did all 5 with her butt touching every time! lol

Sang a few Disney songs to get thru the jump squats. haha

And then on to the Concept2 rower. After a brief intro on how to strap in & proper form to protect her back, she was ready to row. A short 1 minute burst of cardio and she was ready to stretch out and make her sweat angel ๐Ÿ™‚

Warrior paint still intact, fired up and ready for her snack she was excited to document her SUCCESS on the whiteboard and call it a day!

I’m sure she’ll sleep all night for you Brittney ๐Ÿ™‚ As for me, an awesome organic dinner with Whitefeather’s finest meat and fresh Whole Foods veggies with a glass of red wine ๐Ÿ™‚
